Spring is springing here in Georgia - though I am personally hoping for some cold weather yet.. I can definitely feel my gardening thumb itching to dig in the soil and plant things. Naturally, one of the things we consider when planting in our garden is will it benefit the birds? We grow a lot of our own food, but being a bird nerd myself I love when we can also plant things that will feed my many bird friends..
Audubon of North Carolina has made a great list of Native Plants that are bird friendly. Some may be out of the zone here in Georgia, but it's a great place to start if you are considering expanding your garden and by all means - try your best to plant natives and not exotics like Nandina which produces berries that can poison birds.
