As the temperature goes up and the gardens grow and the flowers begin to bloom the hummingbirds have arrived.  These buzzing balls of speed, sound and beauty are fierce little birds and extremely territorial.  I often know they are in the yard less because of the buzz of their wings and more because of their territorial calls and epic territorial chases.  We plant a lot of big showy flowers every summer to try to satiate the hummingbirds.  (I don't hang a hummingbird feeder, but they have more than enough nectar by summers end).

Today's link is from bird note with some fascinating information about hummingbirds.
