Dam

I took another long ramble at Earthsong today with a good friend.

We found Otter tracks! (which was awesome)

Earthsong is a beautiful place and the life that lives there thrives.

I am grateful for the folks who tend it and for the opportunity to spend my time there when I need what the earth there offers.

I am also grateful I have a job that allows me to get out and ramble in beautiful places.

'Talent or Un-talent it doesn't even matter. It's about getting up there, having fun, and being yourself...Even if they laugh it doesn't matter here...' This statement was made by my friend Isabelle ,who is 8, at the Wild Intelligence talent/untalented show today.

I totally agree with her.

Sometimes we have to own who we are, where we are, and what is happening around us to show up and get on the stage of life. AND it is important to have fun while doing it. Sometimes it's really scary but at least in the company of nature who I am in my heart is always enough. Thank you Isabelle for the reminder.

River

I had the pleasure of wandering and stillness on the river at Earthsong.  The first time I sat on this part of the river (almost 18 years ago) there was a great blue heron.  I have been to this river and Earthsong many times since that first time - and not nearly often enough in recent years.  Today, was like coming home again - returning - life bringing ME full circle.

Earthsong held me as she always has.

And there - as though he has never left was a great blue heron.

I doubt it was the same heron.  I am not the same as I was that first time on the river either.  But, his presence marks again, the beginning of a new chapter and new connections.

Remembering.

Reawakening.

Returning.
