Clump

We already have everything we need. There is no need for self improvement. All these trips we lay on ourselves, the heavy duty fearing that we're bad and hoping that we're good, the identities that we so dearly cling to, the rage, the jealousy, and the addictions of all kinds- never touch our basic wealth.  They are like clouds that temporarily block the sun. But all the time our warmth and brilliance are right here. This is who we really are.  We are one blink of an eye from being fully awake.

River

I had the pleasure of wandering and stillness on the river at Earthsong.  The first time I sat on this part of the river (almost 18 years ago) there was a great blue heron.  I have been to this river and Earthsong many times since that first time - and not nearly often enough in recent years.  Today, was like coming home again - returning - life bringing ME full circle.

Earthsong held me as she always has.

And there - as though he has never left was a great blue heron.

I doubt it was the same heron.  I am not the same as I was that first time on the river either.  But, his presence marks again, the beginning of a new chapter and new connections.

Remembering.

Reawakening.

Returning.
