Life

When we planted ourselves on this land 20 years ago we dreamed of growing food and becoming sustainable. We didn't dream of babies and jobs and responsibilities. We had no idea life would be filled with so much. Today our daughter graduated from high school. I am beyond feelings of how our life has shaped up. My garden is beautiful. We have grown so much more than I could have ever thought possible the day we planted ourselves. We were such children then.. and love grew it all..

Home

The view from my happy place after a busy day turning soil. There's a flicker, a great crested fly catcher, the summer tanagers have arrived, the wood thrush sings in the morning, there are juvenile chickadees.. and I am grateful for my slow paced life.

Yellowroot

On my 40th birthday my friend Carl gave me this plant. Plant giving was a common theme between us and Carl. Our garden is full of plants he gave us and his garden was full of plants we gave him. My 42nd birthday is just around the corner.  Carl has left us and so there is no more plant swapping, but his love of plants, his life, and our sweet memories we shared thrive in our garden.
