Bluejays Breath
Visible Sound
Carried
Through
the warm
breath...
The exhale
bound within
the call...
Air
and sound
illuminated
by the bright
light
now visible
where green leaves
clung
only weeks ago...
Warm breath
meets cold air.
Together
they hold each other
and
the sound evaporates
into the space
held
by another
bluejay
in the distance...
Light
through the fragile wings
of a tufted titmouse
the almost transparent jump
of a squirrel between two pines
Light.
Beautiful.

Fog
hugs the earth
this morning
while water droplets
hung on leaves
gather together and
drip to the ground.
Each day
the view
through the forest
becomes
more
transparent.
This day,...
is filled with
sunshine
an north/easterly cool breeze...
that feels like it is coming off the ocean
deer
singing and alarming wrens
chipping cardinals
and the long shrieks from the red bellied woodpecker
... And long sleeves.
